Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Who can join Treasure Valley Consultants' Network?

Any person who is an independent, business-to-business (B2B) consultant or an internal consultant employed in any of the corporations or government agencies here in the Treasure Valley. If you want to network with other consultants and create a profile for yourself and your business, this is the organization for you.

If you consider yourself a consultant and you are doing marketing that is really focused on a business-to-consumer (B2C) market, this may not be the organization for you. We would encourage you to look into the number of leads groups in the area.

Q: Why should I join Treasure Valley Consultants' Network? Better yet, why do we need another organization here in the Boise area?

Well, why not? It's simply another networking opportunity. The more networking opportunities you have, the more people you get to know and inform them of who you are and what you do.

We feel our organization is filling a void among all of the other business networking organizations in the Treasure Valley. There is nothing wrong with any of them, however we feel consultants don't have a place they can call their own. Through Treasure Valley Consultants' Network, we hope to provide a forum that will feed the independent spirit - the reason why we became consultants in the first place!

Q: Why would I want to join an organization that my competition has already joined?

At Treasure Valley Consultants' Network, we don't believe in competition. While many of the members have similar industries they market within such as human resources or information technology, we believe that each member brings their own unique focus and perspective to the organization. It is that focus and perspective that builds our network and forces us to take a look at who we are marketing toward to build a better brand for our respective consulting companies.

Q: Is Treasure Valley Consultants' Network a leads group?

Not necessarily. If a lead comes out of your networking in the organization - great! The intent of this organization is to educate, support and promote. Members have the opportunity to learn new ways to improve and grow their consulting businesses while at the same time learn what other consultants do and find ways to collaborate and share best practices. At the same time, the organization provides a forum through the website to promote the knowledge and expertise of our members to business owners, leaders and key decision makers in area companies and beyond. If they have a problem that needs to be solved we aim to be a one-stop resource to help them find the right person to provide a solution.

Q: I have employees. If I join, are they members too?

Absolutely! When you join you are signing up your business and all of the resources you have at your disposal - including your employees. Your profile posted in the consultants' directory is of your company. We simply need one person in your company to be the designated point of contact.

Q: What's with all the ads?

The ads are affiliate programs Treasure Valley Consultants' Network are committed to. In the near future we hope our website will become self-supporting. If you or any of the visitors buy a book or click on an ad, a small percentage goes to our organization. For the most part, it helps keep our costs low especially in the area of membership dues.

Q: Can I link to your site?

Please do. Likewise, we will link back to you in a similar fashion. The only request we make prior to you linking to TVCNet is to contact us and inform us of your intentions. We want to make sure that that site liking to us contains content that is complementary of the content we provide at TVCNet. This way, it is a win-win situation for both site owners and we can enjoy the benefits of referring web traffic to one another.
